Pamela Winslow Kashani

Drawing from years of professional experience as a performer, producer, composer, writer and mentor, Pamela is poised to offer a fresh creative perspective to anything she touches. She co-leads Apples and Oranges Studios, the film, television, and theater production company with her husband Tim Kashani, and serves as artistic director Apples and Oranges Arts, its nonprofit arm.

 

As an actor Pamela created such roles as Ensign McKnight on Star Trek: The Next Generation and the original Rapunzel in Into the Woods on Broadway. Also on Broadway Pamela played Cinderella in Into the Woods, Lucille in Meet Me in St. Louis and Babette (the feather duster) in Beauty and the Beast. Pamela has played many leading roles at regional theaters across the US as well as TV guest appearances and hosted her own TV show, Arts Coast to Coast. Change Happens, her one-woman stage show, has played in several venues on both coasts, most recently in New York and Los Angeles, and appeared in the films Steal Big, Steal Little, Emma and No One Called Ahead. http://pamelawinslowkashani.com

 

Beyond her achievements in traditional performance, Pamela sits at the forefront of merging technology and artistic expression. A pioneer in VR acting, her VR performance in Finding Pandora X won awards at both the Venice International Film Festival and SXSW. Winter Lights, a STEM forward family holiday musical written by Pamela and husband Tim, began in VR and moved to the live stage where it lives today. In addition to composing music and lyrics, Pamela plays the role of the Science Fairy QED.

 

As a producer Pamela won a Drama Desk Award for the Broadway revival of Hair in 2009, in 2010 gained Drama Desk, an Outer Critic’s Circle and Tony Award for the Best Musical Memphis and co-produced the four-time Tony winner An American in Paris. Pamela was nominated last year for a Grammy for her vocal performance on Sondheim: Unplugged Volume Three. She graduated with honors in acting/musical theatre from Carnegie Mellon University.
